Privacy policy (POPIA)
Last updated: 2 September 2026 · Responsible party: BlueAura AI, operator of Kids on the Move SA
Kids on the Move SA helps parents, drivers and fleet owners keep children safe on school transport. To do that we process personal information, and we do so under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, phone number and role (parent, driver or fleet owner).
- Children's details — first name, surname and school, provided by their parent. We collect only what is needed to match a child to their transport and never more.
- Payment details — your bank account details for EFT verification or debit orders, and your payment history.
- Trip and location data — vehicle GPS positions, pickup/drop-off times and NFC card tap events during school runs.
- Fleet details — vehicle and driver information supplied by fleet owners.
Why we collect it
- To run the service: live trip tracking, tap-on/tap-off attendance, and pickup/drop-off notifications.
- To bill for the service and match payments to accounts.
- To keep children safe: alerts, incident records and roster control.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use children's information for marketing.
Where it is kept
Data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, encrypted in transit, with role-based access rules: parents see only their own children, drivers see only their own runs, and fleet owners see only their own fleet.
Your rights
- Access and correction — you can view and edit your own details in the app at any time.
- Opt out and deletion — in the Parent app, open Account → Opt out & remove my details. Your saved payment details are removed immediately so no further payment can be collected, and the rest of your information is deleted. You can also email info@blueauraai.co.za.
- Complaints — you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
